When I was 13 years old, I had been to my first communion and all that Catholic jazz, being in Catholic school for first
and second grade. I did not know God though. I led a typical teenage life, but then while at work at a Riding Stables,
I met a pretty girl named Anne Marie. After taking her and her Church group on a Horseback ride, I decided I wanted
her number. I found out where the Church was holding their camp and ran the mile and a half to go see her. Upon arriving I
met about 4-5 other kids that asked me something I'd never been asked before. They asked me if I died that day, why
should Jesus let me enter Heaven? I had no clue, I thought I was doing right. HAHA
The kids proceeded to show me through tracts and the Bible, How I could know I would go to Heaven. Needless to say, I ended
up staying the whole weekend there at the camp. WOW! I was saved and going to Heaven. At least I didn't have to worry about
going to meet that old ugly dude the Devil. But, as with many people today, no one was there to disciple me after
I was saved. I knew I was saved but had no idea how to follow Christ. To add to it my mom FLIPPED OUT when I told her
I wanted to be a Baptist. Years later, I would move to Las Vegas, Nevada and enter another Catholic school, that did
not teach me a thing about Jesus or Heaven except how to say all these different prayers and confess to the priest for absolution.
I ended up joining the US Army and after Desert Storm came to Texas to repair Military trucks. Here, I met my wonderful wife,
Hope, of 17 1/2 years. She opened my eyes to the truth of the Bible and after much reading, I found I was still a sorry joker
not knowing a thing. I'd been indoctrinated that Adam and Eve was just a fairy tale as were many stories in the Bible. What
a rude awakening I was in for. Through a casual discussion, my wife told me if you can't believe all of the Bible then why
believe any of it? She then directed me to the source of all truth and to people who could explain it. I then rededicated
my life to Jesus and started to study, study, study. I have listened to everything God has said to me, and like Peter
denied my call to ministry 3 times. What a wonderful Savior we have not allowing me to strike out. He called again and
redeemed me for the 3 strikes. I am now an Ordained minister, with a Masters of Theology degree and a thriving
Ministry relationship with the Little Disciples Ministry in Pakistan. May Jesus' name be Praised for
saving me and for my wife and 2 children that are a blessing from Him.
