Now first things first. Do you know that you are going to live forever? Yes your body will die, but you have a soul that goes on living. Do you know there are 2 places you can spend eternity when you die? Heaven with its streets of gold, a place that there is no crying and no pain, where people will live in complete peace and happiness forever. The other option is Hell and the Lake of Fire. Everyone in Hell will be cast into the Lake of Fire, a place with no rest from torment, a place of everlasting fire. Do you know if you were to die today which of those 2 places you would go? If you are not sure, let me help you to know you will go to heaven. First, you must understand that you are a sinner. (Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God) Maybe you are thinking now..what is sin? Well if you have ever lied, even a little white lie, stole anything, killed someone, been drunk from too much alcohol, cursed, disrespected or disobeyed your parents, lusted after a man or woman, had sex outside of marriage..these are all examples of sin. Romans 3:10 says As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one. So that includes you, me and every other person of the 6 billion people on this planet. Because we have sinned we have to pay a price for that..just like when you get caught speeding you have to pay a ticket. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death. Ezekiel 18:4b The soul that sins, it shall die. This death is referring to being thrown into the Lake of Fire. God is a loving God, and He does not want to send any of His children to the Lake of Fire, so He provided us a way to pay that debt we owe...John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes on His shall be saved. (He has made Him to be sin for us, He who had no sin of His own, that we might be made righteousness of God in Him 2 Corinthians) So what I have just said is God sent His Son to live on earth as a man, while still having the qualities of God by being perfect. Jesus was beaten, spit up on, mocked, nailed to a cross, and pierced in the side. He died on that cross so He could be the perfect, spotless sacrifice for our sins. Now if you are feeling sad for Jesus, you don't have to, because on the 3rd day He rose again and now is sitting at the right hand of the Father(God). This is where you come in now. You must accept by faith (believing even though you weren't here to see it) what Jesus did for you. If you can believe this is true all you have to do now is say Lord I am a sinner. I know that I need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus has paid the debt for my sins. Please forgive me Lord and save me. Come live in my heart Jesus. Amen. Guess what? That's it! You are saved! Now what you have is much like the foundation of a house..your salvation is (your foundation) will always be there. From now on your life will be judged on what works you do in Christ. When a saved person dies we are judged by our works. Those works that are not to God's glory will be burned up and our works in Christ will bring us treasures in Heaven. The burning up of our junk is how we are purified. In order for you to grow as a new Christian you will need to read the Bible everyday (just a couple of pages a day) The Bible is God's Word and it is there to help us know what we should do in life, to comfort us, and to keep our faith stong. (Man can not live on bread alone but by every word of God)God wants to talk to you everyday in prayer. I like to imagine that Jesus is sitting right beside me when I pray. I always thank Him for dying on the cross for me and for the things He has given me in life. I also tell Him my needs and concerns. God wants us to be a part of a church, so that we can be with other believers and help one another, it's also a place to go and worship Him. When you find a good church tell the Pastor you have been saved and need to be baptized. Baptism is nothing to be afraid of, all that happen is the Pastor will hold on to you and put you under(immersion) the water for just a second, enough to get you fully wet and he will bring you back up. He will say something like I baptize you in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. (Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4)
