Scriptures dealing with peoples excuses and difficulties

CAN'T BELIEVE

  Revelation 21:8  But as for the cowards and the ignoble and the contemptible and the cravenly lacking in courage and the cowardly submissive, and as for the unbelieving and faithless, and as for the depraved and defiled with abominations, and as for murderers and the lewd and adulterous and the practicers of majic arts and the idolaters (those who give supreme devotion to anyone or anything other than God) and all liars (those who knowingly convey untruth by word or deed) -{all of these shall have} their part in the lake that blazes with fire and brimstone. This is the second death.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must {necessarily} believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him {out}

Proverbs 3:5,6   Lean on, trust in,and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

CAN'T UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE

 I Corinthians 2:14 But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless non-sense) to him; and he is incapable of knowing them {of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them} because the are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated.

II Corinthians 4: 3  But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost.

AFRAID I CAN'T LIVE IT

Jude 24 Now to Him Who is able to keep you without stumbling, slipping, or falling, and to present {you} unblemished (blameless and faultless) before the presence of His glory in triumphant joy and exultation { with unspeakable, ecstatic delight}

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ {in Him I have shared His crucifixion} it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I love by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself  up for me.

Philippians 1:6 And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ {right up to the time of His return}, developing {that good work} and perfecting it and bringing it to full completion in you.

NOT WILLING TO CHANGE

II Thessalonians 2:12 In order that all may be judged and condemned who did not believe in {who refused to adhere to, trust in, and rely on} the Truth, but {instead} took pleasure in unrighteousness.

Galatians 6:7,8 Do not be deceived, diluted, and mislead; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside) { He inevitably diludes himself who attempts to dilude God} For whatever a man sows, that and that only will he also reap. For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality  will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

James 1:14-15 But every person is tempted when he is drawn away, enticed, and baited by his own evil desire (lust, passions) Then the evil desire, when it has conceived, givesbirth to sin, and sin, when it is fully matured, brings forth death.

NOT NOW! I'LL BE BETTER WHEN I'M OLDER

Genesis 6:3a Then the Lord said, My Spirit shall not forever dwell with man, for he also is flesh; but his days shall be limited to 120 years.

Proverbs 27:1 DO NOT boast of {yourself and} tomorrow, for you know not what a day may bring forth.

II Corinthians 6:2 For He says, In the time of favor (of an assured welcome) I have listened to and heeded your call, and I have helped you on the day of deliverance ( the day of salvation). Behold, now is truly the time for a gracious welcome and acceptance {of you from God}behold, now is the day of salvation.

GODS EXISTENCE

Psalm 19:1 THE HEAVENS declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows and proclaims His handiwork.

I Timothy 3:16 And great and important and weighty, we confess, is the hidden truth {mystery} of godliness. He {God} was made visible in human flesh, justified and vindicated in the {Holy} Spirit, was seen by angels, preached among the{Gentile} nations, believed on in the world, {and} taken up in glory

Romans 1:19,20 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for Gos has shown it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood  by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.

PROOF OF HEAVEN

Revelation 21:1-4 THEN I saw a new sky (heaven) and a new earth, for the former sky and the former earth had passed away (vanished), and there no longer existed any sea. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, all arrayed like a bride beautified and adorned for her husband; Then I (John) heard a mighty voice from the throne and I perceived its distinct words, saying, See! The abode of God is with men, and He will live among them; and they shall be His people, and God shall personally be with them and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neithershall there by any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Matthew 6:9 Pray, therefore, like this: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed (kept holy) be Your name.

II Corinthians 5:1 FOR WE know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved (destroyed) , we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

PROOF OF HELL

Matthew 25:41 Then He (Jesus) will say to those at His left hand, Begone from Me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels!

Luke 16:19-25 There was a certain rich man who {habitually} clothed himself in purple and fine linen and reveled and feasted and made merry in splendor every day. And at his gate there was {carelessly}dropped down and left a certain utterly destitute man named Lazarus, {reduced to begging alms and} covered with {ulcerated} sores. He {eagerly} desired to be satisfied with what fell from the rich man's table; moreover, the dogs even came and licked  his sores. And it occurred that the man {reduced to} begging  died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. And in Hades (the realm of the dead), being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far away, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried out and said, Father Abraham, have pity and mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame. But Abraham said, Child, remember that you in your lifetime fully received {what is due you in} comforts and delights, and Lazarus in like manner the discomforts and distresses; but now he is comforted here and you are in anguish.

Luke 12:5 But I will warn you whom you should fear: fear Him Who, after killing, has power to hurl into hell (Gehenna); yes I say to you, fear Him !

ALWAYS HAVE BEEN A CHRISTIAN

John 1:12 But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority to become the children of God, that is to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name.

John 3:3 Jesus answered him, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person be born again (anew, from above), he cannot ever see (know, be acquainted with, and experience) the kingdom of God

Psalm 51:5 Behold, I was brought forth in {a state of} iniquity; my mother was sinful who conceived me {and I too am sinful}.

WILL EVERYONE GO TO HEAVEN?

John 3:36 And he who believes in (has faith in, clings to, relies on) the Son has  (now possesses) eternal life. But whoever disobeys (is unbelieving toward, refuses to trust in, disregards, is not subject to) the Son will never see (experience) life, but {instead}the wrath of God abides on him {God's displeasure remains on him: His indignation hangs over him continually.}

II Thessalonians 2:12 In order that all may be judged and condemned who did not believe in {who refused to adhere to, trust in, and rely on} the Truth, but {instead} took pleasure in unrighteousness.

Mark 16:16  He who believes {who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on the Gospel, and Him Whom it sets forth} and is baptized will be saved { from the penalty of eternal death}; but he who does not believe { who does not adhere to, trust in, and relies on the Gospel, and Him Whom it sets forth} will be condemned.

GOD IS TOO LOVING TO SEND ANYONE TO HELL

Mark 16:16

II Peter 2:4 For God did not {even} spare angels that sinned, but cast them into hell, delivering them to be kept there in the pits of gloom till the judgement and their doom.

LOVE OF THE WORLD

I John 2:15-17 Do not love or cherish the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world -- the lust of the flesh {craving for sensual gratification} and for the lust of the eyes {greedy longings of the mind}and the pride of life {assurance in one's own resources or in the stability of earthly things} --these do not come from the Father but are from the world {itself}. And the world passes away and disappears, and with it the forbidden cravings (the passionate desires, the lust) of it; but he who does the will of God and carries out His purpose in his life abides (remains) forever.

I Corinthians 10:31 So then, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you may do, do all for the glory of God.

I Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from evil { shrink from it and keep aloof from it} in whatever form or whatever kind it may be.

BACKSLIDERS

I John 2:1,2 MY LITTLE children, I write you these things so that you may not violate God's law and sin. But if anyone should sin, we have an Advocate (One Who will intercede for us) with the Father--{it is} Jesus Christ {the all} righteous{upright, just,Who conforms to the Father's will in every purpose, thought, and action} And He { that same Jesus Himself} is the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins, and not for ours alone but also for {the sins of} the whole world.

I John 1:7-9 But if we {really} are living and walking in the Light, as He {Himself} is in the Light, we have {true, unbroken} fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses (removes) us from all sin and guilt {keeps us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations}. If we say we have no sin {refusing to admit that we are sinners} we delude and lead ourselves astray, and the Truth {which the Gospel presents} is not in us {does not dwell in our hearts. If we {freely} admit that we have sinned and confess our sins. He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins {dismiss our lawlessness} and {continuously cleanse us from all unrighteousness {everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action}

I Corinthians 11:28-31  Let a man {thoroughly}examine himself, and {only when he has done} so should he eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discriminating and recognizing with due appreciation that {it is Christ's } body, eats and drinks a sentence ( a verdict of judgment) upon himself. That {careless and unworthy participation} is the reason many of you are weak and sickly, and quite enough of you have fallen into the sleep of death. For if we searchingly examined ourselves {detecting our shortcomings and recognizing our own condition}, we should not be judged and penalty decreed {by the divine judgment}

HYPOCRITES

Matthew 24:51 And will punish him {cut him up by scourging} and put him with the pretenders (hypocrites); there will be weeping and grinding of teeth.

Romans 14:12 And so each of us shall give an account of himself {give an answer in reference to judgement} to God

Colossians 3:23 Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as {something done} for the Lord and not for men.

SELF RIGHTEOUS

Ephesians 2:8,9 For it is by free grace (God's unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgement and made partakers of Christ's salvation) through (your) faith And this salvation is not of yourselves {of your own doing, it did not come through your own striving}but it is the gift of God

Titus 3:5 He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His own pity and mercy, by {the} cleansing {bath} of the new birth (regeneration) and renewing of the Holy Spirit

Luke 18:9-14 He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves and were confident that they were righteous {that they were upright and in right standing with God} and scorned and made nothing of all the rest of men. Two men went up into the temple {enclosure} to pray, the one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee took his stand ostentatiously and began to pray this before and with himself: God I thank You that I am not like the rest of men--extortioners (robbers), swindlers {unrighteous in heart and life}, adulterers--or even like this tax collector here. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I gain. But the tax collector, {merely} standing at a distance, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but kept striking his breast, saying, O God, be favorable (be gracious, be merciful) to me, the especially wicked sinner that I am! I tell you, this man went down to his home justified (forgiven and made upright and in right standing with God), rather than the other man; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.
